Au Pied du Mont Chauve was born in the late 2000s: the Picard family then owned vineyards historically planted on the lands of Chassagne-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, and Puligny-Montrachet. It was therefore quite natural that the name Au Pied du Mont Chauve germinated in the mind of Francine Picard: the latter being the nickname given to the hill of the famous Montrachet.
