History

Récoltant-Manipulant since 1920 in Bouzy, a Grand Cru region, Champagne Delavenne is rooted in a heritage tied to the terroir. Jean-Christophe Delavenne and his wife, Maëlle Delavenne, represent the fourth generation of the House. He learned alongside his father and grandfather, considering the terroir as an integral part of its family legacy.

As a bridge between past generations and those yet to come, he is both the guardian of expertise and the steward of a healthy land and vineyards. 

Maison Delavenne has practiced reasoned viticulture for many years and is now committed to a certification process. With an organic approach across the entire vineyard, Jean-Christophe Delavenne dedicates significant attention to exploring natural solutions that complement the organic philosophy, furthering respect for nature and enhancing the expressive qualities of the wines. 

Since 2021, lithotherapy experiments have opened a new chapter in the history of the estate. 

In the spirit of the cuvées, which pay homage to the Champagne tradition, the estate has embarked on an in-depth viticultural approach. This approach aims not only to preserve nature but also to foster its flourishing by enabling ever-closer dialogue with the vines. Testing and experiencing lithotherapy represent both the step and the path that mark its culmination through a specific process. 

The infusion of stones and minerals, carefully and precisely applied, transforms the vineyard. From plot to plot, the vines are strengthened, renewed, and stimulated. Invigorated and radiant, our wines express the most sincere and brilliant essence of this journey.
