Champagne Regis Poissinet
The Estate
The seven-hectare estate of Champagne Régis Poissinet,
implanted in limestone clay and alluvial limestone terroirs
of the Marne Valley, has been family run since 1947.
The vines, that are on average 33 years of age,
are spread over 35 parcels around the villages of Cuchery,
Baslieux, Leuvrigny, Troissy and Mareuil le Port.
The principal grape variety is Pinot Meunier, completed
with Chardonnay and a little Pinot Noir.
Our Style
At Champagne Régis Poissinet we are driven by a veritable passion
for our wines that we make and mature with the same respect
for nature, and the same sensitivity and freedom of spirit.
We adopt an individual approach to each vat and each barrel,
accompanying rather than intervening, understanding the need
to stand back and allow the wine to evolve in the most natural way possible.
That is our credo.
Our champagnes are brightly incisive, with astonishing energy and fruit.
They express themselves directly, unadorned and authentic,
but always with the greatest of elegance.
There exists an absolute harmony of balance between freshness
and structure that creates intense emotion.
Our method of working in the vines and making our wines
with scrupulous respect for nature entails certain transformations
and changes that demand time to come to fruition.
Irizée, the very first cuvee of the renewed Domaine, has now been launched.
Other cuvees, currently in the course of creation, will soon enrich our future collection.
Let us leave them time to mellow quietly in the cellar.
The Team
Ever since he was a child, when he spent his days in the family
vineyards, Régis Poissinet has always had a real passion for nature.
So it was quite natural that, at the age of 14, he chose to take the first
steps on the road to becoming a champagne grower and producer.
Over many years apprenticeship he observed the work in the vineyards
and the winemaking techniques employed by different producers.
He considered the different possibilities, the arguments for
and against, the constraints and the ideas in vogue.
He studied their impact on the vines, the grapes and
the wine, and finally forged his own opinion.
In 2011 Regis set in motion the cultural metamorphosis of the estate,
which is today in the course of conversion to biodynamic
viticulture across all of its seven hectares.
He is seconded by his head of cultivation and his son-in-law, David without forgetting a totally committed team, who are delighted to participate in this adventure that is as demanding as it is exciting !
