Franck Follin-Arbelet, brother of Stéphane who runs Bouchard Père & Fils in Beaune, and his wife Christine, comes from the famous Louis Latour family, founded the estate in Aloxe-Corton in 1922, where their ancestors owned the vineyards in the late 19th century.
Located in the heart of the village of ALOXE-CORTON, Domaine FOLLIN-ARBELET operates and vinifies a very fine range of appellations in the town and its surroundings, made up of three red Grands Crus, one white Grand Cru, four red Premiers Crus, and a Village appellation. The wine list is representative of the best terroirs of the Coteau de CORTON.
Although he comes from an old family of ALOXE-CORTON formerly owner of prestigious appellations, Franck FOLLIN-ARBELET is the first descendant to devote himself to viticulture and winemaking. After graduate studies in Geology in Montpellier, he chose to return to Burgundy and make viticulture his profession. He began in 1990 with a first plot of Aloxe-Corton rented; Then followed the Premiers Crus in 1993, then the Grands Crus.
Today, the Domaine vinifies the following appellations:
ALOXE-CORTON Village appellation
PERNAND-VERGELESSES 1er Cru "En Caradeux"
PERNAND-VERGELESSES 1er Cru "Les Fichots"
ALOXE-CORTON 1er Cru "Clos du Chapitre"
ALOXE-CORTON 1er Cru "Les Vercots"
CORTON Grand Cru
CORTON BRESSANDES Grand Cru
CORTON CHARLEMAGNE Grand Cru
ROMANEE SAINT VIVANT Grand Cru
The cellars and the winery are located in the center of the village of Aloxe-Corton in a magnificent and remarkable setting. The beautiful family property, built in 1764, is of typical Burgundy architecture, with accommodation on the first and second floors, store and winery on one level, and cellars in the basement. The cellars, certainly the deepest in the village, are particularly cold and humid. A well was dug there. These conditions, admittedly sometimes a little spartan for tasting, are on the other hand particularly beneficial for the production and aging of great wines.
