History

1980: The Birth of a Dream and a Family Passion

The story begins in 1980, when Jocelyne and Michel Paquet founded Domaine des Valanges. Located in Davayé, a small town in the Mâconnais region, the estate, which covered 6 hectares at its inception, has continued to grow. Known for its Saint-Véran, the estate's wines were quickly exported internationally. Over time, Jocelyne and Michel passed on their passion for vines and wine to their three sons, Jean-Baptiste, Mathieu, and Camille.

2014 – 2016: The family passion is passed on and enriched

In 2014, the estate expanded with the acquisition of a 2-hectare estate in Solutré-Pouilly, located primarily in the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation. The brothers then acquired 10 hectares in Mâcon, expanding the range and giving this family adventure a new dimension. It also provided an opportunity to showcase the diversity and richness of the Mâconnais terroirs, from north to south.
In 2016, the three sons took over the 12-hectare family estate. Camille manages the vineyard and winemaking, while Mathieu and Jean-Baptiste are responsible for marketing the wines. The new generation is working to continue the family tradition, acquiring new vines and developing a less interventionist approach to winemaking based on the principles of organic farming. Tireless lovers of the Mâconnais terroirs, the three brothers have a common wish: to produce great Burgundy wines and make them accessible to all.

2018: Conversion to Organic Agriculture

With their strong convictions and their attachment to the land, the estate is committed to viticulture that respects people, nature, and the soil. Gradually, the estate is converting to ORGANIC AGRICULTURE. 2021 will mark the first certified vintage.

2019: Paquet Family: The Renewal

The beginning of 2019 marked a significant turning point as the estates merged to become one: "Famille Paquet." By bringing the range together under a single label, the brothers aimed to strengthen the image and reputation of Famille Paquet wines.
